Breakfast
If guests remember one thing about Hotel Imperador Caldas, it is usually breakfast. It is generous in the Brazilian way: a long table you walk along, plenty of choice, and staff who keep it filled and welcome you back for more. Many guests find it carries them comfortably through to the late afternoon.

From the fruit end of the table
Seasonal Brazilian fruit, cut and ready, with juices poured fresh into the glass. In summer this is where most guests start before the day gets warm.
Bread, cake and pastry
Breads still warm, cakes of the kind you find in a family kitchen, and pastries that disappear early. Coffee is the constant, strong and refilled without asking.
The hot corner
Eggs and bacon for guests who want something solid before a day at the thermal baths or a drive into the hills.
Cheeses and cold cuts
A steady spread of cheeses and cold cuts, easy to build a plate from and easy to return to for a second round.
Coffee first, then everything else.

Good to know
Breakfast is the meal the hotel serves. There is no restaurant for lunch or dinner, so guests eat in Santo Amaro in the evening or bring something back to the picnic area in the garden. The front desk can point you towards the bakeries and places that locals use.
