Santo Amaro da Imperatriz grew up around hot mineral water in the valley below the Serra do Tabuleiro. The town is small, green and easy to drive through, and almost everything worth seeing sits within a short trip from the hotel.

Most guests fall into the same easy rhythm: warm water in the first half of the day, a slow lunch in town, and an afternoon spent either in the hills or back beside the hotel pool.

The thermal baths
The hot springs are the reason most guests come to this valley. They are a short drive from the hotel, and the usual rhythm is a morning or afternoon in the warm water followed by a slow evening back here. Opening times and entry conditions are set by the bath operators, so it is worth checking before you set out; the front desk keeps track of what is currently open.

Eating in town
Santo Amaro has good bakeries that open early and a handful of family-run places for lunch and dinner. Since the hotel serves breakfast only, this becomes part of the trip: bread and coffee in the morning street, something simple in the evening, and whatever you carry back to the picnic area in the garden.
Afternoon
Rivers, forest and rafting
The rivers running out of the Serra do Tabuleiro make this a rafting region, and operators in the surrounding area run trips for a range of experience levels. Walking, waterfalls and viewpoints fill the rest of the days, and even a short drive gets you into forest.
Getting around by car
A car makes this trip much easier. The hotel has free private parking on site and a garage, and the roads through the valley are simple to follow. The hotel does not run an airport shuttle, so plan on driving or arranging transport yourself.
